Afro Brasilica is a multidisciplinary creative residency that champions sound, movement and conversation. Rooted in music, including but not limited to: Brazilian Samba, Afro-Latin, Latin Jazz and more, the project expands on the idea of community cultivation through shared expression within CONTXT.

Through dynamic DJ sets, visual art, poetry, dialogue, guest performances, spirited libations and curated tapas, Afro Brasilica weaves a limitless, intentional approach like the rings of its latter-namesake wood; intricate and unique, yet, connected and intersectional.

Every other Thursday features special guest Victor Monsivais and his band. (May 7, 14, 28, June 11, 25)

This residency is curated, hosted and produced by Trust The Process Press.

PWYC - Thursdays - Doors 7:00 pm, Show: 8:00 pm.

Accessibility: There is a slight ramp and no steps but a 2 inch lip at the door of entrance at 254 Lansdowne Avenue. Washrooms are on the main level - not fully accessible. Please contact us here for inquiries and information on how we can best support your visit.

Trust The Process Press (TTPP) is an independent print matter project by Ola Mazzuca and Rhandy Adolphe. The creative imprint is an extension of Ola’s multimedia journalism platform, Sonic Fold, and Rhandy’s artistic identity as SAMBARanthony. Both combine and express their mutual passion for the arts, community building and exploring new places. TTPP is a means for them to share these ideas and experiences alongside readers near and far. Their zine, MiBoSo, lives in bookstores and third spaces in Toronto, Miami and New York.
Both journalists by trade, as a DJ duo, they take pride in being thoughtful curators and selectors of international music that sparks conversation and curiosity — sounds that foster connection and collaboration, honour heritage, while fueling movement.
